Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
